Monday, 11 October 2021

A celebration was organized by Al-Nasser University on Sunday, 10 Oct 2021 (4 Rabe’ Awal 1443 AH) to commemorate the birthday of Prophet Mohammed (peace and prayers be upon Him). The event took place at the University’s headquarter as part of the University’s religious commitment to the scared occasions.

The celebration was organized in the presence of Prof Abdullah Tahish (the Chancellor), Prof. Ali Sharaf-Eddeen (Vice Minister of Higher Education and Scientific Research), Mr. Mohammed Elwadei (Director of Educational Institutions at the Judicial Guard Office), Mr. Sami Sharaf-Eddeen (Deputy Secretary of Capital City Directorate), Mr. Ali Ethayfani (Al-Nasser University’s Secretary General). Dr. Fahd Elkhayat (FAFS Dean), heads of departments, faculty members, and a big gathering of students.

Prof Tahish delivered a speech in which he greeted the guests and congratulated them on the occasion. “Our celebration,” the Chancellor pointed out, “of such a grand occasion should not be taken for imitation or flattery. It must rather be devoted to Allah to seek His blessing and redemption. We have to cherish on the occasion the Prophet’s qualities and traits so as to take them for examples in our conduct, manners, words, relations with each other, and even education to our children. It should be a point where we can proceed, revise, and assess our characters and benchmark them against that of Prophet Mohammed (ppbuh).”

For his Par, Prof Ali Sharaf-Eddeen (Vice Minister of Higher Education) presented his thanks to Al-Nasser University for commemorating the great occasion. He noted, “Yemenis are the best people all over the world who celebrate the birthday of Prophet Mohammed (ppbuh). This, however, is not surprising since they showed their love to the Prophet long before His rise. Their glorification for the Prophet is deep rooted in their devoted love for Him. Therefore, the events Yemeni conduct in commemoration of the Prophet outnumber those done by other people because their adoration and appreciation for Him are superior.”

For his part, Mr. Sami Sharaf-Eddeen (Deputy Secretary of Capital City Directorate), gave a speech in which he stressed the importance of the morals derived from the occasion. The Prophet (ppbuh) should be our example in words and action. His biography should be taken for a life approach and His love should be passed on across the generations.

Presented by Dr. Mohammed Shawqi (Dean of Humanities), the event’s program comprised variable parts including: an inspiring speech, a chanting operetta, a poem recitation, and a q/a competition on the Prophet’s biography.
