Chancellor Takes Part in FASRC Award Ceremony

Prof. Abdullah Tahish, the Chancellor, took part in the 2015 Outstanding Research Award ceremony organized by Federation of Arab Scientific Research Councils (FASRC). The event was held on June 31, 2016 at Khartoum Coral Hotel in the Sudanese Capital Khartoum.
Through nurturing the talented research scholars, the award aims to revive the culture of scientific research amid Arab communities. It, moreover, helps researchers materially invest their innovative studies in the industrial sector. Besides, the award is meant to give international recognition to the outstanding researchers in the Arab scientific research institutions.

Prof. Tahish (Chancellor of Al-Nasser University and Secretary-General of the Arab Association for Environmental Studies) delivered a speech on behalf of the specialized scientific associations. He praised the competing researches and congratulated the winners. He also appreciated the FASRC’s great support and encouragement.
The ceremony was attended by Minister of Higher Education and Scientific Research in the Republic of Sudan, Secretary-General of the Federation of Arab Scientific Research Councils, a number of ambassadors and diplomats in Sudan, chancellors of some Arab universities and academic institutions, representatives of some international organizations, and a large number of research scholars.
It is noteworthy that the award has three disciplines: environmental science, medicinal and aromatic botany, and humanities. The winner in the field of medicinal and aromatic botany is Dr. Ghaniah El-Naqeeb, a faculty member at Faculty of Agriculture, University of Sana’a.
