Computing and IT Department Holds Fresher Orientation Day (1445 AH)

Under the auspices of Prof Abdullah Tahish, the Chancellor, an orientation day was organized by Computing and IT Department on Sat, 19 August 2023. The activity targeted the 1st level students enrolled in the department’s promising programs for the academic year 1445 AH (2023/2024).

In his address to the students, Prof Tahish welcome the fresher students at Computing and IT Department. He confirmed that Al-Nasser University is committed to providing an encouraging educational environment as well as excellent faculty to promote the students’ academic experience. He also noted that the University seeks to keep pace with the technological developments through upgrading its academic programs to meet the requirements of the world’s rapid change and the labor market as well. The above-mentioned academic programs include: Information Technology, Cybersecurity and Digital Forensics, Artificial Intelligence, and Data Science.

Prof Hussein Albahji, Vice Chancellor, gave a speech in which he greeted the fresher students and congratulated them on the beginning of the new academic year. He also wished them a successful year full of hard work and excellence. He confirmed that the University would spare no effort to facilitate any obstacles that may hinder the students’ learning progress.

For his part, Prof Omar Eshuja, Dean of Development and Quality Assurance Center, briefed the freshers on the mechanism and system of study in the University. In addition, he introduced the methodology followed while preparing the computing and IT programs so that they can meet the standards of Council for Academic Accreditation and Quality Assurance.

For his part, Dr. Qais Ennuzaili, FECS Vice Dean and Head of Computing and IT Department, talked about the merits of being a student at one of the department’s programs. He noted to the four certificates that an IT students can be awarded upon completing the four-year study: a bachelor’s degree from Al-Nasser University and three diplomas from Aptech International Center, India. Mr. Hani Elghaithi, an IT faculty member, talked about the modern software technologies applied in Cybersecurity and Digital Forensics, Data Science, and Artificial Intelligence. Moreover, Mr. Suhaib Elyahri, the department’s academic superintendent, gave an overview of the learning system and services at Faculty of Engineering and Computer Science.

The activity was held at University’s headquarter in the presence of Prof Hussein Albahji, Vice Chancellor, Dr. Mansour Ezzabadi, FECS Dean, faculty members, and the fresher students at Computing and IT Departments.
