First Aid Training Session Held by Medical Labs Department

Under the auspices of Prof Abdullah Tahish, the Chancellor, a First Aid training session was organized by Medical Labs Department, Faculty of Medical Science. The training session was held at the University’s headquarter During Nov 9-11, 2021.

The training course targets the department’s second level students and lasts for three days at six hours a day. The trainer is Dr. Fuad Radhwan, a faculty member at Al-Nasser University and the Training Specialist at Yemen Red Crescent Society. The course’s topics included: first aid principles, the first-aider’s faculties, cardiovascular & pulmonary resuscitation, and dealing with such cases as bleeding, traumas, choking, burns, injuries, fractures, shifting, bandages, injection giving, and measuring blood pressure and biological marks. To engage the trainees practically, they are given a chance to practice the above first aid skills.

According to Dr. Mukhtar Ezzumor, Head of Medical Labs Department, First Aids has been approved as one the program’s compulsory courses. The University is goaded by the faith that providing students with first aid skills help enhance their real-life experience in their major as they get a chance to practice their theoretical classes.
