Sunday, 24 January 2016

A great ceremony was conducted at the Grand Hall of FMS last Sat and Sun in the presence of Dr. Ahmed Saif Muharram (CBT), Prof. Abdullah Tahish (Rector), Mr. Ali El-Thayfani (Secretary General), Dr. Abdulkareem El-Zumor (FMS Dean), and Heads of Departments. Organized by the FMS Deanship, the ceremony was chiefly meant to welcome the 2016 Fresher students of Pharma  Dept on Sat and those of Lab, Nursing, and Public Health Depts. on Sun. The celebrations had many entertaining shows and impressive speeches appealing to the audience.

Opening with the national anthem and Quran recitation, the events were peppered by the starring singer Mohammed Wade’a’s welcome song. At the Pharma ceremony, Dr. Abdulkareem El-Zumor delivered a speech in which he presented his hearty welcome to the faculty members, students, and their parents attending the event. He also expressed his wishes that the students would avail themselves of the educational environment offered by the University to well obtain the respective knowledge.

Many other speeches were presented by Dr. Yasser El-Madhaji (Head of Pharma Dept), Dr. Abdulraqeeb El-Henani (Head of Nursing Dept), and Dr. Ibtisam El-Moayad (Head of Lab Dept) in addition to ranking students. On the whole, the speeches welcome the fresher and congratulated the ranking students. They also invited the students to prove themselves with the help of such facilities and activities offered by Al-Nasser as: well-equipped labs; scientific visits; training courses; etc that produce typically qualified students.

An introductory reportage about the University was prepared and presented by the Electronic Gate Director that briefed the attendees on Al-Nasser academic history as well as the scientific and recreational programs sponsored by the University. A number of the University brilliant alumni were introduced to the students too.

The event included many recreational participations by students; namely the national songs presented by Mohammed Bade’a, in addition to some dramatic and poetic shows. Thereafter, 38 FMS ranking students were honored as well as the cohorts’ representatives and Al-Nasser football league champion team.

In spite of the exceptional circumstances overwhelming the country, FMS witnessed a high turnout. Over 200 students enrolled in the various departments for the academic year 2015/2016. It is noteworthy that admission is still open in all disciplines. Presenting its hearty congrats to the high-school graduates, Al-Nasser feels pleasant to bring them the good news that additional classes are to be given for the belated enrolments.
