Pink Ribbon Campaign Continued

Monday, 05 December 2016

An outreach seminar over breast cancer and cholera has been organized last Thursday Dec. 1, 2016 by Faculty of Administrative and Financial Studies in conjunction with National Cancer Control Foundation (NCCF).

The event took place as part of the pink-ribbon campaign for breast cancer outreach initiated by Faculty of Medical Sciences last month. It intends to cast the light on the symptoms and reasons of the disease. It also raises awareness over the necessary means of control and protection due to the alarming outbreak of breast cancer in Yemen.

The seminar’s key speech was delivered by Dr. Radhyah El-Madhaji (a specialist in scanning diagnosis & Head of Health Sector at Specialist Arab Women Federation). In the first part of her speech, she tackled breast cancer; its symptoms, early detection, reasons, ways of protection, and therapy.

The other part of the speech was devoted to the outreach of cholera that broke out recently. She explained the disease’s symptoms and the essential first aid procedures applicable to the cholera suspected patients so as to avoid the side effects before hospital admission.

Held at the FAFS’ campus, the seminar witnessed a large attendance of the college’s she-students.
