The exhibition included a number of the pharmaceutical products which have been made up by the Pharmacy Department’s students, namely the ‘productive pharmacist cohort’ based on empirical studies and in accordance to the manufacturing tests and standards. Over 20 products were displayed including detergents, cosmetics, and medicines which were produced with all manufacturing guidelines taken into account.

The Chancellor along with Prof Omar Eshuja’ (Dean of Development and Quality Assurance Center), Mr. Ali Ethayfani (Secretary General), deans of faculties and heads of departments toured the exhibition’s booths. Prof Tahish extended his sincere thanks to the FMS’ staff members, namely the Dean and Head of Pharmacy Department. He also praised the Pharmacy students’ distinct achievement that notes to the advanced position taken by Al-Nasser in professional learning so that the students are capable of doing research and making products out of natural materials. Thanks are due to Dr. Abdulkareem Ezzumor (FMS Dean) who himself is an outstanding research scholar with a wide pharmaceutical expertise.

For his part, Prof Omar Eshuja’ (Dean of Development and Quality Assurance Center) pointed out that Al-Nasser University was established in 2007 comprising then only one college of pharmacy. Today, the University is holding the 11th convocation which notes to 11 years of constant progress.

He maintained, “We, in Al-Nasser University, are proud of our slogan ‘Steady Steps toward Excellence’. We have upgraded the academic programs of faculties and done the course description of Pharmacy according to the standards of Academic Accreditation Council. Today, we are celebrating the present success of Pharmacy Department by which the theoretical classes have been turned into practical products by students who, unlike their peers in other universities, know how to produce pharmaceuticals.” He concluded his speech with presenting his thanks to the actual makers of this success, namely the students, faculty members, and FMS deanship, and confirmed the University’s sense of pride over their efforts organizing such an exhibition.

For his part, Dr. Abdulkareem Ezzumor pointed out that “the exhibition idea was conceived a year ago when the students of Cosmetics were inspired to make products similar to the ones found in the market though with different forms, provided that the Yemeni natural environment is rich with the required raw materials. The next step was to extract the raw materials in particular ratios and rates to make medicines and cosmetics from Seder, Russ Soil, Thermos, Mint oil, Clove oil, etc.”
