Rector Attends Consultative Meeting at Ministry of Higher Education

The Rector participated in the meeting called by Minister of Higher Education, Dr. Mohammed Bin Mohammed Mutahar. Held at the Ministry’s premises, the meeting consisted of the rectors of private universities.

At the meeting, the Minister discussed with the attendees a number of problematic issues in the private universities, namely observing the 2014-2015 admission and capacity criteria accredited by the Supreme Council for Higher Education. The meeting tackled the progress of the educational process and the extent to which medical and engineering programs meet the quality requirements.

Such topics as bridging system and obligating students to pass the competency test were on the meeting’s agenda in addition to the commitment of private universities to reporting finalized and sorted lists of enrolled students to avoid belated adds-on.
