{"id":33026,"date":"2021-06-19T08:27:06","date_gmt":"2021-08-11T05:08:36","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.al-edu.com\/?p=33026"},"modified":"2021-08-11T08:08:36","modified_gmt":"2021-08-11T05:08:36","slug":"civil-engineering-students-had-geoengineering-trip-over-many-sites","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.nu.edu.ye\/en\/civil-engineering-students-had-geoengineering-trip-over-many-sites\/","title":{"rendered":"Civil Engineering Students Had Geoengineering Trip over Many Sites"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>The 1<sup>st<\/sup> and 2<sup>nd<\/sup> level students of Civil Engineering at Faculty of Engineering and Computer Science, Al-Nasser University, conducted a geoengineering visit that covered many sites at Sana\u2019a suburban. Taking place on Saturday, 12 June 2021, the trip is part of the practical of both Geoengineering and Soil Mechanism subjects.<\/p>\n<p>The trip\u2019s program included field visits to Makhtan at Kherbat-Sawan, Saref and Wadi-Dhahr, and finally Shamlan. The students were introduced to such igneous rocks as basalt and tuff, the byproduct structures as grooves, the impact of weathering on rocks, and their architectural application. In addition, they identified the sedimentary rocks including the stratified and flysch types, the influential factors like weathering and erosion, and the distortions resulting from geological structures.<\/p>\n<p>From an engineering perspective, the students had a look at the designing of plain and mountain roads in addition to tunnels and piled and built dams. They also experimented RQD test and identified the ingredients of stone crasher, the sources of stones, and variable sizes of the sand outcome.<\/p>\n<p>The trip was mainly intent to promote the students\u2019 practical experience of the theoretical classes they studied. They were accompanied throughout the trip by Dr. Adnan Abdurraheem Ba-raheem and Mr. Sami Fare\u2019a.<\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-full wp-image-32767\"
