First Aid Course Concluded at Lab Department
A first aid course that FMS’s Lab Department organized in collaboration with Yemen Noncommunicable Diseases Organization & Yemen Red Crescent Society was concluded last Thursday, Dec 21, 2017.
Targeting 50 lab students, the one-week course focused on the first aid fundamentals and how to deal with such emergencies as choking, bleeding, burns, shocks, drowning, injuries, poisoning, bone fractions, etc. It also cast the light on how to initially handle the different emergency cases.
The course was concluded with a party that the participants organized in the presence of Dr. Mukhtar El-Zumor (Head of Lab Dept.), Dr. Yasser El-Madhaji (Head of Pharmacy Dept.), Dr. Badr Ben-lazraq (YNDO’s chairman), Mr. Abdulmalik El-Souri (YNDO’s Secretary General) and the course trainer, Ms. Arwa El-jabal of YRCS.
In his speech, Dr. Ben-lazraq appreciated the University’s and FMS’ interest in conducting such courses stressing the importance of first aid and precautionary health promotion for individual and community alike. He noted to the complicated consequences of taking improper first aid actions.
The course trainer praised the students’ interaction and keen interest in learning all about first aid. Sophomore student Tariq El-Hadi confirmed that he usefully learnt to take the proper action in the different first aid cases.
Containing many entertaining and purposeful shows, the party was concluded with presenting thankful certificates to sponsors in recognition of their considerable contribution as well as to the participant students.
