Al-Nasser Football Team Proudly Quits 4th Winter Tournament at Semifinals

After losing the game against Sep 21 team by 1/0 score, Al-Nasser team ended up its participation in the football competition of the 4th winter sport tournament organized by Wahdat-Sana’a. the team’s departure came as a result of the match that took place within the competition semifinals on Wed, 31 March 2021 in Wahdat-Sana’s Club playground.

Al-Nasser team displayed an excellent performance during both halftimes of the game that was very competitive. In the 1st halftime, both teams showed an equivalent performance with none as superior. They exchanged several attacks, yet the first halftime ended with a goalless tie.

In the 2nd halftime, Al-Nasser made a number of attacks against the goal of Sep 21 team, but they missed many scoring chances, the most likely was a penalty kick that Mohammed Khurais failed to score. Just a few moments before the end of the 2nd halftime, Sep 21 team could score a goal that was followed by Al-Nasser’s intensive attempts to tie the result. The strong defense of the opponent, however, hindered their progress and stood between Al-Nasser attackers and the goal. With the 1/0 result, the game was won by Sep 21 team.

The result qualified Sep 21 team for the final game that would be played against Emirates University team which qualified too after beating Future University team. The final game between both teams will take place next Thursday in Wahdat-Sana’a Club playground.

The game had a distinct attendance of fans. From Al-Nasser University’s part, Prof Abdullah Tahish (the Chancellor), Mr. Murshid Al-Aghberi (Director of Human Resources Office and the team’s coach), and Mr. Abdurrahman Al-Hamadi (the I T Specialist) were present. In addition, Prof Mujahed Me’sar (the Chancellor of Sep 21 University and Head of Supreme Medical Council) and Mr. Ameen Juma’n (Chairman of Wahdat-Sana’a Club) attended the match.

After the game, Prof Tahish praised the outstanding performance done by Al-Nasser team throughout the competition. He noted that the players displayed a high spirit and an excellent show up to the last game. He confirmed that reaching such a point is a source of pride for the University and a success that the team thankfully achieved.
