Al-Nasser University Takes Part in Universities League Championship

Organized by University of Science and Technology, the eleventh football tournament of private universities league championship kicked off on Monday.

The inaugural ceremony and opening game took place at Alwahdah Club Stadium where the team of University of Science and Technology played against the Yemeni University team.
Al-Nasser University was represented to the event by Dr. Saeed Alghalibi, the Chancellor, Murshid Al-Aghberi, Director of Human Resource Department, and the University’s team led by Coach Mutlaq Alsayadi. The ceremony was attended also by Abdulrahman Ajlan, the representative of Yemeni Football Federation, the Vice-chancellor of University of Science and Technology, and delegations from the participating universities.
In a press statement, Ibrahim Alwosabi, the tournament Director said: “The competition has gained the great support and interest of all Yemeni universities which actively participate in its annual activities. An important feature distinguishing the event is that it establishes for an athletic, competitive spirit amid students.”
 He thanked the Chairman of the Yemeni Football Federation, Ahmed Aleesi, for supporting and facilitating the eleventh tournament that will certainly be distinct from the previous ones.
 The competition, he maintained, brings athletic talents to the light which should hopefully be patroned by various Yemeni clubs.
It is noteworthy that Al-Nasser team ranked fourth in the last tournament and won the Ideal Team Award. The Top Scorer Award was also given to Al-Nasser team’s gamester, Omar Ba Ibrahim.
