NU Holds Workshop for Designating and Approving FMS Master Programs by CAAQA Standards

In the presence of Prof Abdullah Tahish, the Chancellor, a workshop was organized at the University’s headquarter on Sat, 23 Sep 2023, by Development and Quality Assurance Center. The workshop was intent to finalize the master programs of Pharmaceutical Quality Control, Pharmaceutics, and Public Health at Faculty of Medical Science in compliance with the standards of the Council of Academic Accreditation and Quality Assurance.

In his address, the Chancellor greeted the participants and confirmed that Al-Nasser University always seeks to upgrade its academic programs and to reach the highest learning quality levels not only locally but also internationally. Therefore, the approval of three master programs in medical science would offer the interested students a chance to pursue postgraduate studies, meet the needs of the labor market, and enhance the higher education quality in the medical science field.

The workshop agenda included a speech by Prof Omar Eshuja, Dean of Development and Quality Assurance Center, and a presentation about the three master programs (Pharmaceutical Quality Control, Pharmaceutics, and Public Health) given by Dr. Wafa Almath-haji, Head of Pharmacy Department, and Dr. Mohammed Eshahethi, Head of Community Health Department.

The workshop was held in the presence of the following MOHESR representatives: Dr. Sadeq Esheraji, Deputy Minister for Scientific Research Sector, Mr. Fuad Elhadad, Director of Private Education, and Mr. Faid Esselwi, Director of Postgraduate Studies. Prof Anwar Masoud participated on behalf of the Council of Academic Accreditation and Quality Assurance.

The main objective of the workshop is to offer medical master programs in Pharmaceutical Quality Control, Pharmaceutics, and Public Health, so as to produce competent faculty that would meet the needs of the local community, thus implementing the University’s strategic plan of relevance to academic development.

Participants in the workshop included specialized academicians from public and private universities, labor market representatives, and a number of the University’s graduates. The participants brainstormed over the contents of the programs’ specification documents in light of the local, regional, and international benchmarks. The event was concluded by approving the three master programs after including the recommended modifications.
