English Department Students Visit CTLT

A field visit was organized by Department of English, Faculty of Humanities on Tues, 9 March 2021, to Center of Translation and Language Training at Sana’a University. The visit took place as part of the training program for the 2nd semester 202/2021.

The students were accompanied throughout the visit by Dr. Munir Al-Aghberi (Head of English Department) and Dr. Abdulwakeel Elqasimi (a faculty member at the department). They were received there by Dr. Ibrahim Taj-Eddeen (CTLT Chairman), Dr. Abdulwadoud Ennuzaili (Head of Translation Section at the Center), and Dr. Mohammed Naif (a faculty member at Faculty of Languages, Sana’a University).

Dr. Ibrahim Taj-Eddeen gave a brief introduction about the Center and ethics as well as principles governing its work in addition to the mechanism by which the variable documents are translated and approved at the Center. Addressing the students, Dr. Naif clarified the broad horizons that the profession of translators involves. He also provides the students with some advices to sharpen their practical skills and raise their moral.

Dr. Abdulwadoud Ennuzaili took the students in a tour round the Center’s sections to familiarize them with its work mechanism, from receiving the documents through the following steps of translating and editing to getting them approved and delivered to customers. He pointed out that the Center is linked to a wide network of translators who collaborate in translating to different languages such as, English, German, Spanish, French, Roman, etc.

Dr. Ennuzaili, moreover, confirmed that the center recruits excellent translators coming from both state and private universities. He expressed the Center’s absolute readiness to collaborate with English Department at Al-Nasser University by training the nominated outstanding students.

For his part. Dr. Munir Al-Aghberi noted that the main goal behind the visit is to introduce the translation and English language students to the CTLT’s work mechanism. Such activities are intended to enrich the students’ knowledge as well as practical experience and improve their competency in specialty. He, furthermore, presented his sincere thanks to the University’s board for their continuous support of the department’s activities.
